Meet The Doctor

Dr. Mellanda Colson Scott is a dedicated and compassionate dentist who has been serving the Norfolk community since 2005. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Howard University in 1998, followed by a one-year residency at the New Jersey Dental School. Her journey brought her to the Tidewater area, where she has built a reputation for providing exceptional dental care while giving back to the community she loves.  

Dr. Colson Scott is deeply committed to making dental care accessible for everyone. She has actively volunteered at Norfolk’s annual health fair, Project Homeless Connect, since its inception in 2005. This health fair connects underserved individuals with medical providers, housing resources, and employment support. She also enjoys inspiring the next generation by teaching school-aged children about proper oral hygiene and what to expect during dental visits.  

Beyond the dental office, Dr. Colson Scott embraces a zest for life. She loves outdoor adventures like skiing and river rafting, has a passion for photography, enjoys local theater, and finds joy in reading and recharging through a good nap. Despite living in Virginia for over a decade, her loyalty as a Dallas Cowboys fan runs deep, and she often attends games to cheer on her team — a devotion lovingly attributed to her husband.
